“When We Were Young”
Paintings and Drawings by Bo Lee

Coming back home to the united states, I was overwhelmed with memories of my youth, old friends I havenʼt seen in many years and places I had long forgotten about.
“When We Were Young” brings me back to my teenage years, when our lives were simple. We lived for the future and the present was nothing more than a fleeting moment. Our lives were full of mistakes, judgmental failures, bad decisions and awful taste. Our energy was abundant and experience wasnʼt really necessary. The music was always loud and the movies full of nudity. Sleeping in was not a sin but a god given right and yes, we were always misunderstood.
My first cigarette, first beer, love and heart break, video games and basketball. Stealing key chains, summer camps and Friday night bible study. My first car a Honda Civic and we skipped class in it. Listened to grunge music and played the drums.
The only thing left are stories and memories.
Nothing can bring back our youth, but we can all live like we are young.
